Ancient world now obsolete
leviathan circles beneath
Indifference clouds once watchful eyes to the rising of this beast
It smells the blood of human vice
To which our minds are sacrificed
Blessed be modernity; subjugation sanctified
All hope of freedom failed
New world beyond the pale
Final act of betrayal: sword laid upon the scale
Domination born of hate
Commandeered fate: initiate
From cataclysm fate is forced upon a new collision course
Thundering toward serfdom under abiotic overlords
Automatons surveil us all, engage the final protocol
Pulverize defiance until the revolution falls
Will you come take a stand?
Or your place with the damned?
Impact is imminent!
Brace for a state-of-the-art dark age
All systems set to force-assimilate
We are prisoners of a new dominion over the human race
...One we cannot escape.
Brace for a state-of-the-art dark age
One we may never escape...
Eternal prisoners of a new dominion over the human race
One day, when the last of indifference is spent
When fury drives our great dissent
We may seize back fate, but until that day
Impact is imminent

Hype is a funny thing. Usually when I hear everywhere "Dude this shit is 🔥" or even the dreaded and oft-used "AOTY!!" bullshit, I roll my eyes. And I rolled my eyes last year on the hype train for Carnosus. But again, for every thousandth breathless fanboy review I've seen, sometimes the album exceeds the expectation. So I will confidently tell you that, yes, "This shit is 🔥" as I wait for Willowtip to release that sweet Green Ghostly vinyl variant domestically 🤣 Finally a win for my wallet! bcb723
Blackbraid quickly followed up their 2022 debut in 2023 with more native folk infused furious black metal. This is by no means a sophomore slump as it is equally excellent, methodical, melodical, and approachable as the first record. 9/10 RJ
