One hundred thousand A.D., dreadnought destroyer in lead
Set a course for target Alpha: Proxima Centauri B
Under the guise of exploration, we spin a new treachery
Absolute domination of every galaxy
To your skies we turn a covetous eye
Last ultimatum: Surrender or die!
Rhyming the steps of our forebears’ genocidal legacy
All will bow to the mighty united humanity
Centurion superhuman sentinels
March to the war drum of the conqueror’s call
Forward to combat, great sapiens war machine
From star to burning star, we reap
Come baptize your brow in the blood of alien kings
Conquering all worlds in the cosmic deep
Godlike descendants
Bionic brains fueled by primal malevolence
Forward to combat, great sapiens war machine
From star to burning star, we reap
Come baptize your brow in the blood of alien kings
Conquering all worlds in the cosmic deep
So goes our ominous aim to colonize, conquer, and breed
Through ritual violence the cancerous cult anthropocene
Our insatiable hunger for power polluting the soul like disease
Satisfied by only total galactic supremacy
Colonize, conquer, and breed
For all time the sapiens creed
Colonize, conquer, and breed
For all time the sapiens creed

Hype is a funny thing. Usually when I hear everywhere "Dude this shit is 🔥" or even the dreaded and oft-used "AOTY!!" bullshit, I roll my eyes. And I rolled my eyes last year on the hype train for Carnosus. But again, for every thousandth breathless fanboy review I've seen, sometimes the album exceeds the expectation. So I will confidently tell you that, yes, "This shit is 🔥" as I wait for Willowtip to release that sweet Green Ghostly vinyl variant domestically 🤣 Finally a win for my wallet! bcb723

Blackbraid quickly followed up their 2022 debut in 2023 with more native folk infused furious black metal. This is by no means a sophomore slump as it is equally excellent, methodical, melodical, and approachable as the first record. 9/10 RJ
